The end of first trimester....

So we have hit the end of first trimester (well, in two days). I didn't start taking pictures last time until I was about 5 months, but since I am showing a little earlier this time, I thought it would be fun. I guess black wasn't the best color to wear to show growth, but oh well. I can still wear regular shirts, but pants and shorts have to have elastic waistbands or they won't fit. Good think all my work clothes for PE are comfy and stretchable!! I'm trying to hold off buying maternity clothes as long as I can and I have wonderful sisters who are sending all of their tops to me (Thank you girls!). Too bad I can't fit into their pants....they are too petite for me.

Well, we are gearing up for our move in a couple of weeks and will be glad when it is through. We have been doing a lot of preliminary preparation, so I think it will go fairly smoothly! My awesome green-thumb grandma will be in town for a few weeks when we move, so she and I are going to get some plants and flowers to fill the pots around the house to make it feel like home! Ike is also doing some renovations and updates, so the house will be looking new again in no time!

For all you dog lovers!!

I have to say that I love my dog. He is not perfect, but he is the perfect dog for our family. Despite the slobber, the dog hair, the occasional chewing (thank goodness he is basically out of that stage), and his poor stinky ear we can't seem to clear up, he is the greatest. He is the first one to welcome us when we get home and he's sad when we leave. He has basically a mellow personality unless he is around new people or things (but he does calm down after getting used to them), and he is a great watch dog with strangers (but, again..he calms down after getting used to them-so I guess not a great watch in the end). But we love him....especially when I see him like this..... I love it when he has had a good day with lots of exercise and he just plops down and sleeps. It makes me not mind the 4 am nose-nudging to let him out to do his business. Well, Bo just turned two about two weeks ago, and I guess his real present will be moving to a house with a lot of property and plenty of other dogs to play with! The house on the family property we will be moving to has plenty of land for all of us, and I can't wait to watch him do what he does best.....just be a dog!

Turley Baby #2

Well, we have an official due date. According to the measurements on the ultrasound, the baby should come right before Thanksgiving this year. (Official due date is 11.24.09, althought I'm hoping he/she will come early like Dane did) My sister-in-law, Mandi is pregnant also and due the day after me, so this Thanksgiving will be busy in the extended Turley family! Everything looked good with the baby, although at this point it still looks like a little bean with tiny sprouts on each side. I can't wait until a few weeks from now because by then i should be in the clear from any left over morning sickness (that has been coming and going lately). And we will be settled in our new place and I can just enjoy the summer going to the beach, pool, and visiting family and friends. Here's baby's first pic...I'll have to get Dane's old ones out to compare.

spring break

Update...Ike is planning on going to Mexico in May and will come back in June to move the family down to Cali. Dane and I will probably go visit stometime in the summer for a few weeks, but will stay close to home for most of the pregnancy.....yes, most of you already know, but I am pregnant...due sometime around end of Nov or beginning of Dec. Will have an official due date in two weeks when I go see the doc. It will be a crazy year for us, but things will all work out...they always do....and plans always seem to change for us, so who knows what the future can hold. All we know is what we have planned right now. But California feels right at this point in time...at least until the end of the year, or unless Ike gets some unexpected job elsewhere???? It has been known to happen...

Anyway, we just got back from a fun spring break trip to Cali. Got to check out the place we will be living when we move there in June. Dane and Bo will have a blast playing on the property and riding the quads next door at Uncle Jim's! We did have one really nice pool day, and the rest of the time it was overcast, but still nice. We went to Knott's Berry Farm one day and had a lot of fun! Mandi and I couldn't ride our favorite rides because of the whole bun in the oven thing, but we still had fun, and we ended up going on some of the kid rides with Dane and Waimea. We did try to brave the swings, because we both love them, but it proved a mistake...there is a picture below of us pretending to puke in the trash can after we got off the ride. Not a smart thing when you are already feeling queasy!! Live and learn!! It was a really fun end to a really great week! Can't wait to go back in a few more weeks!!

Mom's Visit

My mom and Aunt Brenda stopped here for a couple of days on their way back east. We had a great time and Dane just love-love-loved playing with "Nana" for two days! Thank you so much for stopping and we hope to see you again soon!

Disneyland - March 2009

We went to California last weekend and it was a nice weekend away. We wanted to get to Disneyland before our passes are blocked out for the summer and Ike has to leave for Mexico. It wasn't too crowded and we had a lot of fun! I put the rest of the album up on my facebook page, so if you want to see more...you can look there! We are hoping to go back again for my spring break in April, so hopefully it will be warm enough then to go in Grandma's pool! If anyone will be in town (Cali) during April 4th-10th, then let me know so we can hook up!

And February Ends!

Well, we are glad that February is OVER! It was a stressfull month with Ike looking for a job and us not knowing what's going to happen next in our lives, but things are finally more clear now. (I just think of that song that goes...."I can see clearly now the rain is gone...") Although nothing is concrete until it happens, we have received reassurance that by the end of the month everything will go down. So what is it? Well, in a nutshell...Ike's bro, Kyle, has offered him a job as a project manager/superintendant on the project he is developing on his land down in La Paz, Mexico in Baja Sur. So Ike will probably be moving down there to get started near the end of the month, if all goes well. I will stay here with Dane and then move down in June when my school year is over. Viva Mexico! It sounds like a big decision to move out of the country, and it is, but it has definitely fallen in our laps at the right time when NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has surfaced. Any job lead Ike has had in the last month has fallen through and it is getting down to crunch time financially. So, that is our plan for now. It will be a great resume-builder for Ike in the construction field and it couldn't come at a better time. It will be fun brushing up on my spanish and teaching Dane and Ike, too. La Paz is a short flight to California, so we will be able to come back to visit frequently.

That's our life in a nutshell...you just never know where we will be next. So, unless something major happens from now until the end of the month, we will be moving abroad for a little while. La Paz seems like a great place to live...check it out online. It is fairly modern (it is the capital of Baja) and has a population of about 150,000 - 200,000. Yes, it is another country, but don't forget....I've lived in Mexico before, so there is no culture shock for me. I am excited to embrace the culture once again. Hopefully it will be a great adventure for us.

Well, finally, here are a few pics once again of what we have been up to...not much, just enjoying this last weekend of February in the 70 degree temps (finally). We will definitely miss the trampoline when we move, but hey...La Paz has a Wal-mart and Sam's club, so getting another one down there would be a breeze!

Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes while we have been trying to figure out our next move the past month. Soon the stress will be over! Love to all!
