Halloween 2011

This year for Halloween we went to the church trunk or treat on Sat. night and on Halloween night we went to Mandi's again for dinner and trick or treating.  Since we don't live in a neighborhood that is trick or treat friendly we went somewhere that was!  A lot of her neighbors really decorate and it is a lot of fun.  I took a pic of the best Halloween house I have ever seen.  Jack took off his costume while trick or treating so he wandered around in his PJ's with his candy bucket.  Dane was Justin Bieber, Jack was a dinosaur and Ike and I were Justin's stage crew and security (we weren't into adult costumes this year so we did what was easy).  Not too many people got Dane's costume and one person called him a telemarketer (we laughed) but he didn't care because he was determined to be Justin.  I'm glad it's over now because we can cut his hair!!!  He has been growing it out since he decided what he wanted to be.  Halloween was fun, but BRING ON THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS!

Where were you on Sept. 11, 2011?

We spent Sept 11th doing the most patriotic thing we could think of.....watching an all american major league baseball game!  Angels were playing who other then the Yankees!  We got there as the National Anthem was playing and there was a giant American flag on the field that covered the whole outfield.  Pretty cool!  It was a warm day so we only stayed in our seats a few innings then moved to the upper seats in the shade.  Much better!!!  It was a great day and I'm glad we decided to go to the game.  To make it even better, after the game all the kids got to run the bases on the field.  Dane loved it and it was cool to go down to field level!

After running the bases!

National Anthem was playing as we got to our seats!

The flag was bigger than this.  They were rolling it up in this shot.

Chillin' at the beach.
We had a great trip this year and here are a few pics of what we did.  The first week was beautiful every single day and there was tons of sunshine so we hung out at the beach almost every day.  The second week wasn't quite as sunny so we took a boat ride where we say hundreds of dolphins out in the open ocean...AMAZING ...(I didn't get pics...so someone else will have to post).  We also went to Sky High trampoline gym.  It was fun flipping around and watching the big boys play dodgeball.  There is even a foam pit that you can jump into and try crazy tricks.  It brought me back to my gymnastics days and it was so fun and a great workout jumping around like that.  I did tweak my back trying to do a back handspring on the tramp (something I should never do anymore because my back just doesn't arch like it used to) and it was sore for about a week but better now.  Just gotta stick to jumping and flips...no back bending!  We took some famiy pics too so I will post them when they are ready.  All in all it was a great trip and we look forward to it every year!

Poulton Family Reunion

At the end of June we had a Poulton Family Reunion.  It was to honor my maternal grandma, Ethel Poulton.  My mom and her 3 sisters were there with all of their posterity!  We had everyone there except for one cousin who is on a mission in Colombia, so he gets a pass!  LOL!  It was a lot of fun but I wish we had one more day to spend with everyone!  We took a big family picture and individual family pics, spent a day at the park playing with all the cousins, had water fights, played soccer (well me and all my boy cousins and their kids), went bowling for a little "adult night",  went to Cowabunga Bay, watched slide shows of all the families over the years, and had one big giant dance party at the end.  In between all that I had the best time hanging out with my sisters and all of their kids.  I love seeing my boys play with their cousins.  They don't get to see my side very often and I love that they got some real quality time together.  It was a great weekend and I didn't get too many pics, so I hope everyone else posts theirs so I can copy them!

Dane's Kindergarten Graduation and last TBall game!

Dane's last TBall game was at the end of May and it was such a good season for him.  He really learned a lot and improved and loved every minute of his experience!  We will do it again next spring.  He is already excited to start a new sport in the fall...he is thinking basketball or soccer, but we will see!

He also graduated from Kindergarten the first week of June and he is so excited for first grade.  At first he didn't want to leave his teacher, Mrs. Wills (don't blame him cuz she is awesome), but she got the kids really excited for the next school year and he changed his mind.  I helped a lot in the classroom and with parties and activities so I got to know all the kids in the class pretty well.  It was fun!  Hope he enjoys first grade as much as he enjoyed kindergarten!
